In anticipation to making this wonderful event happen live in Dresden, we're looking for new team members. When working with us you’ll have the opportunity to be planning an exciting international event with regards to organization and content amongst a motivated and experienced team of students. Our working languages are German/English. We're based in Dresden, but will be holding virtual/hybrid meetings as required. Since we're a non-profit association, all positions are on a voluntary basis.

The teams and their responsibilities are (not limited to):

Social Events

  • Organize social events (possibly incl. the elbMUN ball)

  • Organize conference catering

Public Relations and Media

  • Create informative and promotional content: announcements, trailer, posters, flyers

  • Manage social media and website

  • Layout the handbook

  • Accompany the conference: newsletter/newspaper, photo-, videography

Guest-Speaker

  • Engage guest-speakers

  • Communicate with guest-speakers before and during the conference

Registration

  • Process the delegate’s applications

  • Support international participants with visa application and accommodation

  • Prepare a welcome package

  • Organize accommodation ‚got a couch’ and public transport tickets

Awareness

  • Develop an awareness concept providing for a safe and welcoming environment

  • Mediate conflicts in cases of discriminatory or unsettling behavior

Conference

  • Select Councils and Committees, conference topics and countries

  • Write council teasers, provide key issues to guest speaker team

  • Run preparation workshops for delegates

  • Optional: prepare and run a crisis council

Cooperation

  • Establish and maintain lasting cooperation with other MUNs (and possibly other organizations) 

  • Facilitate exchange, knowledge transfer and mutual promotion 

Finance

  • Support the association's Treasurer by administering invoices and controlling our budget

  • Acquire funding

Secretariat

  • Represent elbMUN before and during the conference

  • Select and support the Chairs, review their study guides

  • Assemble the delegate’s handbook content (incl. Rules of Procedure)

  • Issue participant’s certificates

  • Accompany the work of the councils

There will also be responsibilities to be shared by members from different teams, i.e. accompanying the conference as a contact person for the participants or being note-passing staff in the councils and committees. This also creates space for individual initiatives.
